MS 2019 Awards Regulation

REGULATION

 

  • The 5th International Porto Congress of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) will present the Prize MS Porto awards sponsored by Merck S.A. 

  • The awards are for the best projects – Oral and Poster presentations delivered during the congress 

  • The project should essentially represent clinical practice experience in MS reflecting originality, clinical impact, scientific rigor, and quality of public presentation 

  • The cash awards of €1.500 will be attributed to the Best Oral presentation and €1.000 to the Best Poster

  • The projects should be original and unpublished and will be judged by the jury during the congress and announced at the closing session 

  • The Award Jury Panel will be composed of five (5) elements: a. Chair of the congress organizing committee, or another member of the organizing committee or the scientific committee delegated by the Chair; b. Vice president of the Congress Organizing Committee; c. An external Member of the Scientific Committee; d. GEEM President or another member delegated by the President e. A member of the Merck S.A. Medical Department 

  • The award should be based on a grid drawn by the selection board, which will be responsible for resolving any omissions in the regulation

  • In the award final decision the Award Jury will also take in count the opinion of the registered congress participants on the available projects expressed by their vote in a congress informatic application that will be available during congress

  • The Jury will decide during the congress, by majority vote and with the President’s casting vote, if necessary

  • The projects should then be published in full version in a scientific journal (eg., Sinapse) 

  • The winners will receive a diploma 

  • All promotional material and promotion of the awards must include the congress logos and registration of the sponsorship by Merck S.A.
